We bought a brand new length of Tartan Carpet at a sale and then spent a couple of weeks cutting it and binding the edges before fitting it into our Campervan.
The first trip out and the bottle of cooking oil fell out of the overhead locker, hit the edge of the worktop and sprayed across the new carpet.
It took me ages with a hot iron and brown paper to soak up that oil. Even then it was never fully removed and eventually we had to make up another carpet.
Ever since then any fat etc in our units has been the solid stuff.
------------- Lobey.
