Hi anyone had recent dealings with AgeasInsurance (formerly Fortis) my contract is with Caravan & Camping Gaurd when you contact them for a claim for Caravan Insurance you go through to Home Insuranceand then ...........etc, also ensure that if your Caravan is in Storage you have to quote the post code for the Storage location not your home address as the Storage location is where the "risk is" the logic of that requirement suggests I will need GPS tracker on my van so they know where "the risk " is at any moment in time I cant get my breath, also I rang to check their email address and had to go through the whole security saga again and decided to revert to snail post " I can't get my breath" one exsasparated caravaner!!

I got extremely exasperated on renewal last year. In a nut shell I store my van at a relatives address 20 miles away, but then store it overnight on a neighbours address the night before we go away. I struggled to find anyone to cover me. Some companies would cover me at my own home address and the relatives but no where else. Cut a long story short the Caravan Club insurance covers the van anywhere they do not even record where it is stored. Only stipulate that you have 1 form of security in place at all times. Might be a bit more expensive but for peace of mind and convenience worth it I think.

Adrian Flux asked me what cc my folding camper was when I phoned for a quote!

We store our van at my parents house which is a mile away, but some companies will not insure it because we don't keep it at our address.

Hi an updatehad contact from a nice man at Ageas (ask for Ben)Insurance and within 2 hour had e-mail authorisation for repairs the "one call service" should know this man as he is the only one who deals with touring caravan claims, despite this I will be making suggestions to their customer services team (for improvements of course).
Interesting to hear of other issues and thank you for your replies which I have noted many thanks
