Hi all - wonder if anyone can advise? I find the overhead spotlights over our fixed bed a bit too bright (I read but keeps hubby awake) and yet they are only 15w (I think). Is it possible to fit a dimmer or, better still, is it possible to get a lower wattage bulb - and if so, where from?
Hi all - thanks for replies! Have tried the eye mask, Big Al, but as mine is purple satin with pretty pink hearts, I couldn't concentrate on my book for laughing at hubby!
Jenifernn - ours is fixed bed and am talking about spotlignts recessed over it so pretty sure they are mains.
Janiebabes - they get really hot - so much so have had a blister as I tried to turn them off without looking directly at it (so bright it hurts to look up!).
When hubby gets home today am gonna get him to take it out (ooh-er missus!!) and see what type and search on line, but I know when he looked before he said he was suprised how low a wattage it already was.
It's only a little thing I know but it's one of those things that would be nice to sort out!
Love reading all the advice on this forum! Keep up the good work all and let me know if you think of anything else!
i assume you have something like this running on the 12v
woudl be interested as to what people have come up with. i have been looking to do the same....only idea i have had so far is to replace with a low power LED version, but these are quite pricey.

Hi Pete - will try and find out tomorrow but am thinking mains and ordinary lights. It's an Ace Jubilee if that's any help!
Hi, Spotlights Should be 12Volts, With van is not connected to AC hook up, Put your car/van switch on main control panel to van, do same with lights switches, Then turn on your Spotlights, If they illuminate when switched on at spotlight, Then (It is 12Volts DC) IF it dose not illuminate (Then it will be mains AC) Hope this is of some help to you.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
i agree with sue and bob seems the easiest way around it all ,the lights above you are very bright when you are trying to read, but the kids have little things they attach to books so surely they have them for adults would save a lot of hassle !!!
