ive always washed my caravan with an extendible soft head brush and a sponge in the small crannies , ive noticed that it has left little scratches all over the windows and i never leave the brush dirty , its not that easy with just a sponge because you really need a good step ladder to do the roof and high spots . Does anyone else use these supposedly soft brushes and do you get small scratches over the windows ??? im really annoyed with the window scratching :(
fine scratches are a fact when cleaning the windows with anything other than water and a soft cloth.i do use a good quality car polish too.very fine or minor scratches can be removed with toothpaste. failing this fenwicks windowize.
There is a product on the market, I guess someone will come on and tell you wot it is called. BUT even toothpaste is to rough for your windows,I have some cream down at the van for getting swirls out of windows and paint work, but forgot wot its called.You want something like jewellers rouge, But its expensive to do all the windows.Dont use a brush or sponge for windows, just clean water and a soft cloth, I know someone who use`s furniture polish on them to buff up.I use a good car wax after i clean the windows, so the muck, rain water just runs off them, so staying clean longer. A tip. seen cling film on the front windows when travelling to keep the flys etc off.

If you have scratches on the windows, you can polish them out using acrylic polish, or brasso! Use with a soft cloth and buff out. then rinse off using clean water and spongfe.

ICI used to make what they referred to as Perspex polish, it was great and a tube lasted for ages. I have been trying to find something similar for ages but so far nothing has matched up to the original. Anyone else got any recommendations?

A tip. seen cling film on the front windows when travelling to keep the flys etc off.
cling film may be ok for a short time but has been proved to cause crazing on polyplastic windows.once crazed it can not be removed. this is suposed to be good.
Ihave recently bought a car with autoglym paint protect and in their bookelet it states that a brush no matter how soft WILL scratch paintwork and caravan windows are softer than paintwork I should think
It is not only whatever you use to wash your van or that causes the scratches. If there are any particles of grit on your windows or paintwork this can lead to light scratching regardless of how careful you are.

i use a window from a caravan scrap yard and test every cleaner or polish i want to use before doing the van.ie.if you use a hard cloth you put more scratches on than you take off. not cheap but i use micro cloths (£6) now,all you need is water spray.

all these special cleaning additives for cleaning caravan windows in and out,In my opinion are useless,
ask any window cleaner for the best solution to clean any window (yes theres are glass) they always recomend fairy washing up liquid with warm water and a quick wipe over with a dry microfibre cloth.
i use it inside and out and never have any compliants
E-cloth with 1054 fibres per sq.cm. Use wet or dry on bathrooms, kitchens or windows. Last up to 300 washes. 50 x 40cm.

I used to work with relatively soft plastic finishes and would some times have to polish out scratches. We generally used Autogleam polish (Mainly because it's produced by the same company, Altro Whiterock, who produced plastic Wall caldding systems), and you can get different grades of buffar heads for electric car polishers. start with the heavier, work your way down to the finest for a fine finish. Between them, these two methods can polish out even slightly deaper scratches.

have been looking buy a small hand polisher for the windows,do you know of one and how much will it be? found a car polisher may be too large and heavy.ta.
