Were changing our van and after lots of research we have chosen the pageant.
Been to see a 2010 sancere today and tomorrow off to see a 2009 burgundy at ryedale leisure.
The vans are similar in weight/spec/design but the sancere has a larger rear wash room with seperate shower, the burgundy has a larger living area with smaller rear side shower/toilet.
Just wandered if any owners of either van can help with our decision?
Yes but even so I do like having the rear bathroom as everything is to hand (incl clothes in the wardrobe) plus there is somewhere to change without having to close all the blinds/curtains........ something to consider.
In fact we are gradually coming round to your way of thinking - Having a two berth we would like more room in the living area - but still a rear bathroom. Maybe just a 4 berth side dinette will do us. Plus we used to have a Mondeo so were restricted in weight. Lots to consider ! Nothing is permanent !

After having both a series 6 Burgundy and a Series 7 Sancere in the past If I had the choice again the Burgundy would be my first choice
Although a it has a smaller washroom the living area is bigger and more comfortable which is more important in my opinion
We have a 2004 Bordeaux which I think is similar is size to the later Burgandy. We never use the shower, the fixed bed was a must and we use the larger seating area extensively. In good weather we are in the awning all the time so we really would not benefit from an end bathroom.

Why ? Do you have a loo and shower in your awning ?
We changed from a two berth to a 2008 Burgundy last year, got fed up with making the bed and then putting all the bedding on the back seat of the car due to lack of space.A rear bathroom was never on our wish list as we always use site showers and dont rally and always have EHU.We did 53 nights away last year and we found it ideal for the 2 of us.The one thing we are going to do is bite the bullet and pay the the exhorbitant fee for the centre chest of draws, had too many near misses with glasses of red wine balanced on the front window ledge.
We have the Burgundy with the fixed bed, smaller shower/loo and it works for us. We had a two birth, end bathroom before but we prefer the space in the living area.
We did buy the centre chest and alternate as we our mood takes us.
We have a pegasus 534 which is the same layout as the sancere. We much prefered the larger bathroom as it is great for us to get changed and holds all the bits a pieces. We sometimes use the shower and have a place to hang wet stuff. For the four of us we find the living space to be fine. We have the centre chest but only use it if we have one daughter with us. When both daughters are there they like the larger bed. Our friends have the other layout and they like the extra space in the living area. But hate the bathroom they have as it is to small.
We had an 07 Burgundy which we liked, the Sancerre was not available at the time or we would have gone for it.
We now have a Pegasus 534 which is the same layout as the Sancerre.
We prefer the larger washroom (the shower is also bigger)-because we use sites without facilities.
You gain a bit more worksurface in the Burgundy layout. There is only the two of us so no problem. We also have the chest of drawers (£ lots!)in the Pegasus
Its personal choice really.

Hi guys, thanks for all your help and advice. After viewing both models we have decided on the burgundy with the extra living area as we have two children. Would of liked the seperate shower but we only stay on sites with facilities. Wasnt keen on the one we viewed though as it had a few dings here and there. Thanks again Chris
We have a Sancerre and it suits us very well indeed. It depends how many you have in the caravan really - there are three of us. I can imagine it being a bit tight with 4 as the lounge area might be a little snug for some - but then we do spend a lot of time in the awning. Love the end washroom and fixed bed. Didn't lke the smaller side washroom in the Vendee, so I'm sure the even smaller washroom in the Burgundy would be no good for us.
Can't imagine having a different layout now we've had a Sancerre.
Burgundy 7 every time, using site facilities all the time shower/toilet room really night time use for toilet, More seating room, our chest of draws was in the deal when bought, still got the cushions as well, also more room for dishes ect, on the side board area, only the two of us so suits us perfectly, also not had one problem since bought new Feb. 2010.Crossed fingers. I recon (for us) best van in 32 years caravaning.
We decided that living space was far better suited to our needs
Have to agree with you on that Big Al.
The Sancerre was released just as we set our minds on the Burgundy S7, we thought it might just change our minds. However when we spent some time in it at the show and soon discovered that the extra living room was for us. Layouts are always a compromise, its all down to the one that suits your needs now, and in the foreseeable future. We also found Rydale Leisure to be very good people to do business with. Wishing you many happy trips out in your new caravan.
