Would a 992cm awning be ok on a van with awning size 968cm or would we need to get it made smaller? If we would need it making smaller can anyone recommend someone to do it & give a very rough idea of cost? Thanks!
Finally managed to find how to get the correct sizings on Bradcots. It's going to be a size too big but seeing as the sizes cross over to some degree I think we'll have to have a weekend away to try it out. Bit daft putting a full awning up for 2 nights but rather that than go on our main holiday & find it's too big!
Put a brick under awning side wheel it will be spot on lol.

We once had a Dorema awning which was a tad large for the van we had back then (not quite as oversize as yours) and it annoyed us. We could never set it out neatly and it sagged and bagged. We sold it on for that very reason and bought a smaller one which fitted perfectly. Then, we bought a bigger van, 'cos we always plan ahead!
Give it a try out, it really depends how fussy you are. It would be useful if you get to try it in the rain - just to see if the rainwater ponds on the roof. Not that I want it to rain on your hols!
We've had two awnings altered to make them bigger - and both times were impressed how well it can be done. Each time, the original manufacturer altered the two triangle sections at each end of the roof panel for us - you'd never know it had been done. Not cheap though and given how easy it is to buy an awning second hand, it might be more cost effective to swap a misfit rather than alter it.
Thanks Sandra. The thing is it's a lovely Bradcot Concept Plus awning that we've not even used yet. Bought it in the end of season sale & now we're changing the van. We'll give it a try & if it doesn't fit it'd be much cheaper to have it made a bit smaller rather than sell at a loss & fork out for a new one.
Brilliant - thanks Michael. I'll keep these numbers/details handy just in case... We'll be needing to use the awning at the end of May so we need to try it out before end of April I think to make sure there's time to get it altered if needs be.
If you put both your caravan wheels on ramps prior to setting up, it will provide a bit more height which exactly what you need. If there is any slack where the awning touches the ground either end, it won't be as much as if the caravan is sited directly on the grass. This was a handy tip given to me a few years back when I had a 1992 caravan with the handbook stating an official awning size of 770 cms. I either had to go for a 750 cm. or a 780 cm. but was confused which one was best. After talking to a chap with many years experience he advised not to go smaller because if the ground drops away from door side of the caravan the awning won't reach. I was advised to go for the larger size and put the van on ramps. It worked for me for over 5 years of owning the caravan. Hope this has been a useful tip.
