Hi Everyone.

I have a full bottle of Butane camping gas ( I was using it on my 2 burner stove in my tent ). Can I use this gas on my Tourer on does this need to be Propane ????

Propane is more volatile than butane. A boiling point of approximately -42.1ºC and a vapour pressure of around 7 bar / 100 psi (at 15ºC), means it is not adversely affected by the UK’s colder weather. This makes propane the ideal choice for heating, cooking and industrial applications.

You can use it in your caravan but it would be better to wait until Easter. Butane stops working when the temperature gets near zero.

We used Camping Gas cylinders for years to save noseweight. Depending how much you use the van Camping Gaz is the most expensive litre for litre. So in the short term you can just carry on using them but if you feel you want to move to a biger size thats the point to decide whether to go for Propane which Camping Gaz do not do.

I think someone will advise more but we have used both over time and you need different regulators they are not just interchangable.

as far as im aware, most things will run on both, instruction books will tell you, if they can, its just a matter of changing over to the correct regulator for the bottle you are connecting up,
