You can take gas bottles on Eurotunnel, up to 47kg in total which means 2 or 3 normal bottles are no problem. They will however pull you over and check that they are turned off. They also say that they should only be 85% full but this in real terms is a full bottle as you buy it anyway.

LPG powered vechcles are banned however.

 We have done the eurotunnel crossing with a caravan 4 times now - it is very straightforward.  Before we had done it we wondered how on earth we would drive on, but it is really easy - the only dodgy time was when a czech coach broke down right in front of us and we had to manouvre past it and then back up on the platform to get into the carriage - hairy to say the least.  We would never travel any other way as the dog stays with us and we save our tesco vouchers so it is free!   They have checked our gas bottles each time and marked on our windscreen hanger thing that they have been checked.  Perhaps make sure that there is not too much stuff in witht the bottles so you can get to them easy.Enjoy your trip!
