I went into our 2008 Compass last night just to check that I had drained taps etc. and found that the door to the rear washroom was jammed solid. I gave it a good tug and it opened but will not close again. It is as if the door is simply too wide for the opening! I am a bit worried, either the door has swollen out sideways or more worrying, that the frame has closed in, as impossible as that sounds.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? Is it just the damp weather do you think?
as a wood door this has possibly taken on moisture and swelled up causing it to stick,covered under warranty i would think. if its a soft wood frame then the frame is at fault.if no warrany you can remove the door and have it reduced by a joiner.

Some end bathrooms have the door catch on the bed side, which is usually part of the bathroom wall creating an L shaped bathroom. (Well almost anyway), Try easing that wall to the side when you try to open the door. Either the door or that frame could have altered due to the type of weather we are having. Same when closing- just ease that wall to one side to slide the door back into position.
Alternatively, you may find that, if you have a fixed bed, the bed mattress is pushing that door frame, so push the mattress over. (better still take it out over winter.
I wouldn't do anything to the door at the moment. You will probably find it corrects itself come the warmer weather. Take anything off the door now and you can't put it back in spring. We have the same problem but once out and about in the spring everything is back to normal

Make sure that you have not got he chassis slightly twisted due to uneven ground or uneven weights on the corner steadies. My old van jams the toilet door if slightly out of level.

We had a Lunar Quasar with a washroom door that wouldn't lock in winter. We set up on site during the cold winter months and when the heating had been on a few hours and the van had warmed up it would lock again. We decided the van must have shrunk a teeny bit in the cold and expanded in the heat.

Also have a 2007 Compass and ours does this every winter, even with moisture traps etc. goes back to normal come spring time. Unless you intend to use the van over the winter I would not worry about it.
Quick way of getting it back would be a few minutes with a hairdryer.

Its definitely swollen with the cold damp weather , our Compass did it las year . i usually leave the door open while in storage so it doesn't jam. Our wardrobe in the wash area did the same
as previously stated it will shrink again in the warmer weather , don't get any planed off

Do you think that those chemical/crystal moisture trap things are worth putting in the van? I have used them before and a lot of water seems to be caught by them but do you think that they are actually doing any good and prevent damp penetrating into the furniture and fittings or are they a waste of money?
any moisture traps placed on the floor would help.i have a bungalow and because it built on marsh land i need to use a dehumidifier a couple of times a week.failing this the draws and doors on the pine bedroom furniture swell and stick.so this problem is not just related to caravans.i use a dehumidifier in the caravan some times.

We always use the Damp Buster every winter. It catches a lot of water which I reckon would just go somewhere else if I did not catch it in my bucket!

I have never seen the Kampa Damp Buster ones before. A nice capacity. I have just ordered two (long caravan) from Waudby's via Amazon. The price seemed very reasonable at £6.95 each. I figure one at each end will not go amiss. Again, thanks!
