We are really panicking now. Should collect our new 'van next Thursday, but this has had to be postpone due to this P*****g weather. Nothing coming out of Hull at the moment. Should hopefully collect week after, but then only gives us a few days before we (hopefully) go away for Christmas.

If it gets worse and collection is delayed until January, have a word with the dealer about protecting yourself against the VAT rise.

Will do, but I am hoping and praying, we get it the week before Christmas, otherwise we wont be going away. We have emptied the old 'van, have boxes all over the house and garage, and don't relish the thought of re loading just for one trip. How's the snow up your way cwdc 56768. Forecast today suggest an end to this weather by beginning of next week. My kids are gutted we never get much snow in Chester & have only had a mere sprinkling - my daughter has been desperate for the school to close and a big dumping of snow but its not going to happen. I hope you get your van in time for your trip
I rang discover today telling them am not picking the van up. they said n/p, pick it up when your ready, its paid for and in storage. I rang a friend in cornwall today, they are snowed in, plus i havent a chance getting on to the caravan site.

Hi Pee Jay, didn't reply on the 2nd (date of your post) as it was B*****awful up this way and across the Wolds. However, today has been the first day in over a fortnight that I have seen signs of a thaw. Snow melting from the roof!
Main roads around here are OK and I understand from a friend over York way that they are clear round there. From you, MI to the A64 junction east of Leeds for your break and you will have no problems.
Enjoy your new van and your holiday
