good tip for leveling a twin axle is to use different lengths of wood, I think we had a length that both wheels could go on and then 2 shorter pieces. They worked alot easier than the wedges

under the wheels when you level the van as pitches tend to be not very level and in order for water to drain away properly the van needs to be level. You need to the level the van from side to side and end to front iyswim. See here
As a "newbie" this year my top tip (which you already know given your number of posts) to anyone is - just ask here for help. In my experience no question is stupid enough to attract anything other than sincere help and support, which is more than you can say for 99% of the internet!
Like Derek, we are 'Newbies' of 1 season. Some of the things we have learnt are; to take your time and not rush anything. As with tenting, when you have packed away double check your pitch to make sure you havent left anything behind and double check you have closed your roof vents before leaving. Above all relax and ENJOY yourselves.
Check your route on via michelen as you can tell it you are towing
for your first lone set up post it noted are handy (well l found it handy)
If you have a mover take the van brake off before using it! !!
Don't lift the jockey wheel up before the legs are down or van is on car! !!
Hi, and welcome to the tin tenters,Towing weight of caravan is very Important and the car you are pulling it with, as well as both units combined, tyres are Important too,as they are carrying EG:900kg on two wheels as opposed to car carrying same weight on four, and need to be of 6ply min, and need to be changed between 5 and 7years max no matter how good the tread is. There is lots of help on here for all the questions you need answered, and the things that are required by law when towing a caravan, some of the other members will be along shortly and will give you the links to information that you need.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
Traitor, I thought I would find you here. You defected to the darkside.
My second top tip (first top tip given when we were chatting last night) is to watch closely how other people setup, you soon see what is a good way to do things and what would not suit your setup.
Enjoy your new van
