We are on a site and the hook up has failed for our van and also the van on the same bollard. The next van along has the same problem. There is no-one on reception and only an answer machine available.
There is no reset button on the bollard. Do they ever reset themselves after a certain amount of time?
Is there a box somewhere nearby? I have stayed on sites where there are several hook controlled from a central fuse box? Get you torch out and have a nosey around.I'm not an electrician but I think a timed reset is very unlikely.
We stayed on a site one Easter where the whole site was run from a main unit too which was kept locked. It must have tripped 3 times one night and an electrician was needed each time - who was fortunately very handily located. I hope you get it sorted soon
Brian i take it all three of you are plugged into the same box.? We get the same prob at Stirling there could be a main box as mentioned above all the posts evan though they have their own trip, goes to that.
Thanks for the replies. I have been out and found another post that is not being used by anyone. We now have power.
I am surprised, because it is such a nice looking and well regarded site. I did notice in reception a notice about using camping kettles rather than ordinary ones.
Hi brianconway, There should not be any automatic timed reset, any reset will be manualy to assess the fault, this should normaly be done by site warden, there may be problem with site eletrics for the bollard posts, or it could be fault in one of the vans, faulty accessories or maybe drawing to much power than the bollard can handle, dont know site you are on, If no emergency contact number, leave message on answering machine(if possable) and it should be looked at when site office opens, in mean time you will need to use your gas and DCeletrics,if you have AC invertor could run TV,and have car ready to hook up to charge batter if required, hope this has helped.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
