Hi all,

Just needed a little rant! - was at the nec last week and on the Bailey stand they were promoting a fiamma awning which OH and i really  liked the look of.  Apparantly you cannot buy it at the show so I duely emailed my dealer and asked to order one! Unfortunately my Bailey dealer cannot buy direct from Fiamma and their supplier doesnt have the correct kit yet! I'm thinking of going direct to Fiamma and buying it myself but then I wouldn't have a warranty if something went wrong with the caravan!!! I WANT IT NOW... Poo.

I feel so much better now - thanks

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Which awning are you talking about exactly? If it's a Caravanstore type Bailey won't cover any fault that they can blame on it - eg water ingress through awning rail, paintwork, etc!

Just to make you feel better - A few years back we used to have a wind out Fiamma awning (with sides) on the side of our Transit van when we were racing motor bikes. We had then a ten year old 1993 Swift Challenger 470 SE ! Great van ! Anyway this awning was the worst thing we ever bought it was hopeless unless there was absolutely no wind. If it rained then it would pool dreadfully and one leg would have to be lowered - ok if you remembered before going to bed ! We used tie the canopy and legs to tool boxes, bikes, anything that was really heavy otherwise it was off !!! In the end the central support pole bent. Plus the weight and space taken up by the plastic sides was ridiculous. I'm sure things have advanced since then but anyway I'd not go near one again !

Ooh I've just noticed I'm now Platinum ! Woopeee !?

Its just a chronological thing being platinum unless you mean blonde shirl250 time marches on!

How long ago was it you had your wind out Fiamma?

Sadly as a Bailey owner if I got a Fiamma which stays in the awning channel I'd have to kiss goodbye to the warranty (if it weighs more than 10kg evidently).

And I thought my platinumness was just my number of postings and no it's not me hair colour !

We had our wind out Fiamma on our Tranny in 2001/2002/2003 I think. Happy days !
