Hi, we are selling our folding camper to join the caravan lifestyle.

We are looking at a Lunar Ultima (Quasar) 524 but the salesman couldn't give us the noseweight of the van as it stood, this is crucial to our car, we cannot go over 75kgs. Does anyone have one or know how we can find this out please?

Thanks

Shouldn't the noseweight be etched onto the a frame? I think ours is, i can't check unfortunately as the caravan is in storage at the mo!

Going again to look at the caravan so I will see if I can see it imprinted, thanks.

I have heard that you can get a lighter gas bottle, which is red not the normal blue which we have been using. Will look into this too to reduce the noseweight.

It's the calorlite bottles that are lighter not the normal red propane ones. Good luck!

The Calorlite bottles when full weigh the same as the Blue ones when empty.

the calorlite bottles only come in red and weigh 22 lbs or 10 kgs full.last one cost me £22.50 see

www.calor,co.uk

info i have for a 2006 LUNAR QUASAR 524

new £ 13.995 / layout EWSD / MIRO 1070 / MTPLM 1300 / MAXPAYLOAD 230 KGS / SHIP LENGTH 6.82 / EX WIDTH 2.16 / AWNING SIZE 9.40.

to be safe on tow the caravan should be no more than 85% of your cars kerb weight.

not set in stone but the nose-weight of a van is normally 7% of MTPLM.but you must not go over the 75 kgs for the car.

The Towing Code says a caravan's noseweight should be seven percent of the laden weight of the caravan, but this may be restricted by the car or caravan limits. Is it safe to tow with less than seven percent and practical to achieve lower hitchweight Open
