We have just returned from our first outing in our new Sprite Muskerteer. We had a great time and are really pleased with the van. The only problem was that the water heater would not work on electric. I followed the instruction book by priming the tank, opening the tap and switching on but the water was cold. I left it overnight and still cold. I tried again after turning it off for an hour and it was still cold. I did try the gas this morning and it worked. I've checked the 20amp fuse next to the heater and the trip switches.

Any ideas before I go back to the dealers? Am I missing something?

Did you fill the heater with water before you put it on?

If we turn ours on empty it trips the thermostat and won't work.

Turn off the heater and empty it. Leave for 10 minutes, refill and then switch on. I think you will find it will work then.

Sorted it. I've just tried it at home from scratch and it's working.

I must have tripped it at the weekend. I had read about the internal thermostat trip switch and did try turning it off for a while and it still didn't work. The only difference is that I have emptied the heater tank since.

I'll know next time.

Glad you were able to sort it. We had the same problem a year or two a go and I rang the dealer who told me what to do. Have never forgotten what he said!
