Hi everyone again,Having just picked up our new elddis we are now pondering what to do about the the bedding,we wanted it to look really nice but the proper bedding for this van on internet was £159 was wondering if anyone had any ideas or is the proper elddis bedding top quality. We just want the3 van to look perfect (at least for now)
'proper bedding' ?? what on earth is proper bedding? what happeneed to sleeping bags or sheets and duvet off the bed at home?
THis sounds like VERY posh camping!
Our van has fixed single beds, duvets, pillows and fitted sheets from Dunelm and duvet sets from Primark do the job. Never heard of "proper" caravan bedding.
We bought a sheet with elastic all round from Dunelm, and I got some bedding straps from they are like braces that clip one side of the sheet to other and stop it from coming off, also looks like its fitted, a lot cheaper than double sheet from Jonic, and normal quilt.
Have you got the cut off fixed bed or regular. If its the cut off could you not buy a kingsize duvet cut it down to suit and run a sewing machine down one side and as most of jonic's duvet covers seem to be plain colours, you could do the same with a plain kingsize duvet cover. The throws just seem to be seamed strips of material? All very nice but expensive. We don't have a fixed bed but I am thinking of doing this for the fixed bunks (kids just aren't getting on with their sleeping bags) - splitting a kingsize or double duvet (when I've taken proper measurements) and adjusting plain pink & blue duvets. Although I am thinking of buying Jonic's bunk waterproof mattress protectors for a snug fit but just using singles on them at the mo.
'Proper bedding'?? Whatever next!! Get down to Asda or Dunelm, you can get decent duvets and some lovely bedsets and throws which won't cost anything like £159.

Just use the bedding from home. When we were over at Strid Wood earlier in the year we had a wander around Skipton and the main departmental store there (name escapes me) had a sale of bedding on. Just happened to be the right colour for our Elddis 540. Duvet cover down from something like £100 to £30 and sheets a similar reduction. Percail fabric which my wife tells me is about the best. Cheap with quality, right colour...now that's what I call proper caravan bedding.

On a slightly different tack, I have just removed the carpets from the caravan to clean them and quite like the laminate floor, we are off to Dunelm soon to look for mats. Still have to clean the carpets though...
Just back, bought some marvel mats which are washable, non slip and 100% recycled, going back for some more and to swap the cheap runners we also bought.
Wow didnt expect to ruffle the feathers of so many a bit tetchy i think
I was just looking for bedding that fitted properly didnt think that was being posh.
Oh and we have used sleeping bags before but if i wanted to stay that way id be using a tent.but thanks to those who gave sensible answers has helped lots
Am I the only one who thinks this forum is getting more and more grumpy? The OP politely asks a perfectly reasonble question, and some of you go straight for the jugular. If he/she wants best quality bedding in their caravan, thats entirely up to them. The post certainly did not warrant the tone of some of the replies.

YES YOU ARE!!!
don't worry only joking
On the OP's question we seem to spend hours in Dunelm and places similar to get the perfect look for our caravan, we are lucky enough to have a king size island bed which the duvet doesn't fall off (mattress is a proper sprung one - not a caravan one) and everything has to match.
The girls bunk beds also has duvets on although there were more problematic as they did keep falling off - never mind an earlier post on this thread might solve that for them.
Would never use a sleeping bag in a caravan - far too hot for that - even in winter and they are so confining.
If you have a cut off bed then get handy with a sewing machine - even I learnt to use one but the chief designer is pretty good as well... Oh and all our caravan bedding gets used for the caravan only
