Which loo roll is best for our Thetford toilet we use Andrex ordinary (we like comfort) but OH says its not breaking up as it should (loo is no1s only) so whats a good compromise soft but soluble. I had a look at the Thetford loo roll but looked a bit rough.
Used to use the Thetford stuff, but found that doesn't always break down as it should. Cheap supermarket budget range is just as good and the price pales into insignificance by comparison.
Are you folks all talking about the special loo roll ? Really can't remember the name of the brand as it's ages since we bought (a lot of) it but we forked out for the one that's meant to be specially for caravan loos. I thought `ordinary' paper caused pproblems, is this a fallacy then ?
I just use normal andrex as was sick of getting a sore a**e if I had eaten something that didn't agree with me, now use andrex and this is fine.and yes Zorro its a con, normal paper is fine as long as its not thick stuff.
Well I'll be damned. What a waste of bl**dy money ! Oh well, at least we know now, cheers Charlie. Our a**es will in future enjoy the luxury of paper that doesn't chaffe...once we've used all that ruddy rough stuff that is.
We initially tried the "special" loo paper; didn't like it, particularly the cost. Have been using our regular soft tissue as at home for yonks now; and no problems at all. And we use our end bathroom exclusively; never using the on site facilities.
I think the specially absorbent paper is now a myth. With all the environmental issues, pretty well most toilet paper manufacturers have brought in papers which readily break down.
Supermarket's own brand cheap stuff. And Andrex Moists, disposed of in nappy sacks in the normal rubbish.
The one to avoid like the plague (at home and for chemical loos!) is Charmin (or whatever they are calling it today) - it doesn't break down at all and is just a capable of blocking your pipes as kitchen-roll.
Surely value roll is 'scratchy' think I'll stick to the old andrex and tell OH its all in his head!! Mind you any time I disagree with him about anything regarding the loo he just says ok fine, I'll get out the instructions to show you how to empty & clean it & I really don't fancy that!!
Dont use Andrex but the supermarket equivalent, not the value range. I find that when I buy the value stuff, either at home or away, we use twice as much of it anyway!
And no restrictions what goes into our loo, thats what its there for.
Even with the supermarket cheapie toilet roll i still find it hard to get all the bits of loo roll out so now i've put a bin next to the loo and throw the toilet paper into that and then empty that each day. Then its just wee to empty out of the thetford.
What a lovely discussion to have lol. Only caravanner's would understand lol
