This weekend we are travelling up the m6 to junction 31, we will have the dogs with us, any suggestions where we might find a picnic area near to the motorway where we can let the dogs have a stretch, and do there wee, rather than trying to find a quite corner at the services.we are towing the caravan, so need somewhere that does not have the height restrictions for the picnic area.
thanks very much

Hi brono69, If you have TomTom satnav,it has parking and picnic areas and all sorts in the favourites menu, if you tick them they will show up on your route as you drive near them, you could try that, sorry cant be of more help.

well what can i say to that, could end up being a mystery tour. Some maps have picnic area symbols printed along the route, could maybe get one of them, thats all i can suggest, till some of the other members that travel that route come along. good luck.

Are you looking for somewhere close to J31 or just anywhere along the M6? I know the J31 area pretty well and there are no picnic areas near there that I can think of.

thanks tigermouse, I am looking for a picnic spot anywhere along the the M6 from junction 1 up to j31, where I am getting off, its really so the dogs can stretch there legs for a few minutes and relieve there selves if needed,
thanks again

I remember there's a picnic spot not far from J15 - you come off the M6 there and double back on yourself on the A519. The first right off there is a B road, it's quite a while since we stopped there so I can't remember if you go down the B road or stay on the A road but it's round there somewhere. Also can't remember if there's a height barrier - I was half asleep at the time! Sorry I can't be more help.
