have now got a mature, avondale/perle orestes 2 berth caravan, unfortunately i have no owner handbook for it ,so am not really sure which gas is best for the old girl,

don't suppose any of you more experienced caravaners can point me in the right direction as to whether she's butane, propane or duel fuel {both but' & pro')

Does not matter, but the type of bottle will be dictated by the regulator fitted.

Perhaps if you post a pic of the regulator people may be able to help.

We use propane (red) (Calor Light) as we use the caravan in winter and butane (blue) can liquify when temperatures get cold. Our caravan is quite new and so has an all purpose bulk head regulator. You will need to buy some hose and connectors etc and the appropriate regulator for whatever gas you decide on. The caravan does not care what gas you use as long as you use the appropriate regulator ! There are many threads on this subject (propane vs butane) which can be accessed via the search facility above.

Hope this helps, Shirley.
