Our 260 porch awning won't fit the new van - the awning warmer & electric supply would be outside the awning, so we need to buy a 390.
I've seen a Kampa Rally 390 for £259.90 on ebay & wondered whether anyone has one & what you think of them (they're more expensive so don't want to waste our money if they're no better than any of the other 390s).
Yes they're very good and nearly as big as a full awning.
The near vertical metal poles make it much more spacious than the normal bendy poles. I think that it is made of better materials than the cheaper makes.
Also, the large windows make the interior nice and light and it is simple to put up the window covers/curtains at night.
It is quick to put up as long as you follow the instructions and is much lighter and compact than a similarly sized full awning.
I read loads of reviews on all of the 390 porch awnings. The Kampa Rally seemed to be the best. I picked up my 2010 model today! Very excited to try it out.
Friends of ours had a PACK 260 lightweight awning and got us onto the idea of one. After looking at various ones on different caravan sites, we decided that the Kampa Rally 390 was the better one, we found it was a better design and the roof area gives you more room because it is not round and more like a conventional awning. When erected lots of space inside and not to difficult to erect even for us ( with our limited capabilities)!!!

Typical!! They have them in red & green but not blue. We need a blue one to go with the van/everything else!
Ah well - at least your reports are all good so I'll go for the one I've seen & also get the inner tent for when DS brings his mate & they want a bit of independance. Last year they were in a pup tent but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with them in the awning.
We got the Rally 260, easy to put up and cant fault it.
Ditto here, we looked at loads of similar but usually cheaper ones but decided on the Rally 260 as you only get what you pay for. Really pleased with it, also purchased the additional vertical poles that seal the awning against the van wall.

That was the reason we brought it, because of the vertical poles, it makes a good seal against the van.
The 260 (not Kampa) we have with our old van has the vertical poles & they do go against a window - the awning is cushioned along the upright part so it sits snug against the van without anything rubbing on it.
I'd forgotten about the vertical poles but will def be ordering them!

I wouldn't like to, even with the spongey inner pad that gives the seal it may have a tendency to rub the window and possibly leave a mark on it. I chose the 260 because although it is a tight fit between the open door and the adjacent window it does give a good seal because it touches the wall all the way down both sides without going across any window.
The blue was out of stock when I wanted mine too, got a good deal at Highbridge Caravans on-line at £219 + £17 ish for extra pole set.
If the Kampa Rally is as good as the Kampa Fiesta then you need not worry. We also use Kampa Easytread groundsheet in both our awnings. I suppose that makes me a Kampa fan!
We have used our kampa rally 260 for a few weekends now and it is very easy to put up. Wished we had gone for the 390 now give us that little bit more room. We do have full awning for longer trips. The 260 is big enough to hold all the outside stuff and coats etc, but not really big enough to sit comfortably in.
When buying check if the mud skirt is on the awning inside or outside. We prefer the inside - less to peg out. We bought our 260 from Highbridge and their showroom model had skirt on inside when we later tried the new awning mud skirt was on the outside.
Thankfully Highbridge exchanged it without question.
There is height adjustment on theouter poles which is useful plus storm strap points.
Downside - you have to pay extra for storm straps and poles for van side.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
