Hi can any one tell me what the free view signal in Padstow is like what size aerial do I need, we have never stayed down that way before and we have just used a set top aerial before but with the analogue switched off need to sort out aerial and freeview box .
dont discount freesat though, I have tried both, and IMO sat is easier to set up (channels are the same everywhere, no re-tuning required) and has the better signal strength, you just need line of sight to the sky in the west.

That's interesting, I usually go for Astra? That hangs about in the SSE. I start from SE and slowly move south. The first satellite I get is the right one with all the UK channels on it.

i find 142 / 144 degs after finding south.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I use freesat all the time now. I use an iphone app called Dispointer AR pro which cost 11 quid and all you do is point your iphone at the sky in a roughly southward direction. The app uses the iphones camera and GPS you get the line of satellites on a red line int eh camera view and you just move the phone until the one you want astra or hotbird is in the centre of the screen
You can tell if there is something in the way like trees because they appear on the camera view.
