I am considering purchasing the Pyramid Screw Pegs to hold down my new Dorema Senator awning. Would really like to know if the peg tops are metal or not as I was continually breaking the tops of my standard pegs with our last awning. Would appreciate any reviews on offer!

I have them and they DO have metal tops.
The only thing I have found is that on VERY hard hardstanding they are a devil to get in. I gave up many times and resorted back to regular hard ground pegs (the ones like huge nails) and a mallet. When you whack a normal peg, it eventually finds it's own way around buried stones etc. These tend to hit a stone and then waggle around quite violently. You then end up reversing them out and trying again on another bit of ground. Quite frustrating!
Absolutely brilliant on grass or softer hardstanding though.

Sorry - may have misunderstood the bit you were querying. To clarify, the peg itself is all metal (including the hex bit at the top), the orange bit is plastic - but very tough plastic.

Got the metal and plastic ones, but don't use them too often. Tend to prefer ordinary pegs - especially since we bought a lump hammer!------------- David

Hi
I have been using these pegs for a while now and find them great.
The trick on hardstandings is to put them in with a mallet as a normal peg then screw them out.
Screwing then in is a nightmare as stated above.
Regards
Sean

Many caravaners who use this type of peg with an electric drill also carry a longish masonary drill bit of suitable diameter just for these occasions
I bought some ordinary 6" coach bolts & large washers to fit from screwfix, these are just as effective but a whole lot cheaper

I find them brilliant! The masonry drill bit seems a good idea for very hard ground.------------- Regards Robin

Thanks all, not sure if we will buy them but the tip about taking a long drill makes a lot of sense!
