just bought a caravan and it came with a awning, just had it out the bag looks well complicated also there is no curtains with it, looks like new are these hard to put up, should i get a different and easier awning maybe a porch awning would be better
did it not come with any diagramms as to how to erect it,if not look on dorema's web site, there are instruction pages on it for their awnings.
they are not too difficult to erect, after the first couple of times you will find it a doddle.
little tip,get some different colored insulated tape, place a band of it on each pole next to the joints to show you in future which pole goes into which joint.
I got a Dorema awning that had no curtains, you can get a set with colours to match at any accessory shop, got mine from Towsure.
Agree with comments about marking up the poles, also practiced putting up the poles in the garden up against side wall of house to get it straigt in my mind before going on site.
I tend to use full awning for longer trips and have a porch awning I use for weekends away. The full aswning needs 2 to put up, I can put the porch up on my own.
Have you searched all the lockers and drawers for the curtains ? I never keep the curtains in with the awning , I put them in the locker or drawers .After I've folded them all it makes sense to put them somewhere they wont get creased.
Or ask the seller, maybe they still have the curtains at home , perhaps they took them out to wash and forgot to put them back in.
We have a Dorema sirocco awning, putting up the first time was a nightmare as we did not have a clue what poles went where, but once we figured it out it went up with no problems. Still I got the frame diagram from dorema just for peice of mind really, for some strange reason I must have a manual/installation diagram for anything I buy now.
I bought a Dorema Calypso second hand but was as good as new with the the alloy poles, quick lock system and Dorema storm kit to attatch to the buckles. It came without any instructions but took no problem to work out how to errect. The only downside of things is the metal zips can be a little fiddly and they rattle against the front centre pole when its windy. Silicone spray sorts out the zips and a six inch piece of water pipe foam insulation slit down one side and slid up into position cures the rattles, other than that its a beautiful awning in blue and grey
I cn mail you instructions with diagrams BUT only to your own address..I can not see how to attach it here So mail me for the Step by step guide how to errect an awning. Being a novice as well I have been looking at video's on you tube on how to put up an awning, take a look I found them useful but then I haven't actually put my awning up yet it could all go pear shaped tomorrow.
