I didn't notice them a week ago when we were away or when I gave it a thorought looking over when I picked it up after the service and its only been on the drive since then
If I find out who did it I'll be very cross with them indeed!!

our van is on a site for 1st year when we took it there there were no dints on the van
i then noticed some dints on both sides of van having checked other vans on site most of the vans have the dints the people that run the caravan park mow the grass around the caravans the lawn mower spits up very little stones that are just below the grass very stony ground i have seen a notice outside one caravan saying do not cut the grass round this caravan i will have to follow suit

cant see how they work on a stone type dent on a caravan ,great on a car with a single skin panel but where the damaged panel is bonded to the inner wall & insulation ...not so sure ?

The only way to get the dints that are made by stones that are thrown by a mower etc is from the inside of the van,which in most cases is difficult.You may be lucky if it's under a bed or at the back of a cupboard where you can remove part of the inner plywood in line with the dint ,but is it worth it? It would cost a bomb at a dealers.Usually the paint is plastic and the stone may not have penetrated the paint,in this case, leave it and just put up with it.If it has damaged the paint and the tin is showing ,then you could use a filler and a spray can.

I've fixed either white or orange self-adhesive reflectors over them but only if they don't look silly.
It's usually small stones flying up as you go along or in my case the last two storage sites I have been on have had loose shingle as the top dressing and passing outfits have sent chippings up.
It's a bloody nuisance I know but I've learnt to reluctantly live with the phenomenon.
Dints in caravans are like wrinkles on your face - a sign of experience. As long as the van's skin isn't punctured it's not a problem. With the current construction materials used by most manufacturers, it's inevitable that a van that actually gets used is going to get a dint or three.

I know Viggo but these are the first dints. I've long since stopped looking at the car for dints as a visit to any car park can result in your pride and joy sustaining all sorts of damage Why can't people be more careful?
I suppose the van will get loads more in its life and I'll just have to get used to those too but at least the present crop haven't broken through the paint layer.
I know, Dave. Dints are annoying - and I cringe whenever I see anyone kicking footballs or throwing frisbees near a caravan for that very reason.
As for the suction thingy, I wouldn't have thought it would work. It's really to pull large steel bodywork panels back into shape. Dents in aluminium sidewalls tend to be much smaller. The suction cup would completely cover the dints on my 'van. It's also far easier to damage 'van walls than it is with a car body.

Those suction cup things are next to useless even on car bodywork let alone a caravan. Believe me after 51 years being a panel beater retired last July
