Having sold my inflatable porch awning on facebook's marketplace (placed it at 10pm friday evening and had the money in my hands by 1pm the next day !). I now need a new awning.

I have a small van so the idea is to get a full awning with either alloy or fibre poles - we need it for touring and I need to reduce weight as much as possible. We found porch awnings go over windows which makes getting a good seal with the van difficult. I should be spending around £800. Ive looked for secondhand and cant find anything.

My concern is the small amount of mesh ventilation panels in the entry level awnings. My OH doesnt want an annexe so the awning also needs to be big enough to cope with a 3 berth inner tent for 2 teenagers (when the sites dont allow pup tents).

Currently looking at the:
Dorema Draytona xl270 (plenty of space ventilation on only 1 door)
Dorema multi nova excellent or the Bradcot Aspire (both smaller but ventilation on 2 doors)

Does anyone have any experience of either of the above awnings / makes or other suggestions. Am I overly concerned about ventilation- I want the air in and midges out !!

Hi have you checked Dorema’s website for their factory clearance i purchase one from them 7 years ago and it’s still in regular use .
I’m fortunate I’m only about 7 miles from their factory so was able to collect in person
Hope this helps

I'd be looking at pre owned. Many people buy awnings and hardly use them. Might be worth asking a few local caravan dealers, they often have used awnings (P/X'd or just left with 'vans) and may be able to help with something.

Alternatively, "Preloved/Gumtree/Facebook Marketplace" always worth a look.
