Condensation forms when the moist air inside the caravan is warmer than the air outside the caravan, the warm moist air condensating when it comes into contact with the window which is being cooled by the outside air.
Some contributing causes of warm moist air include:
Gas heating
Gas burners on the hob
boiling water in kettle or saucepan
Heavy breathing
You may be able to control condensation by cracking open the window to it's ventilator position thus allowing cooler air inside the van at the window to cool the warm moist air before it can condensate on the window
quite a lot of new vans have had problems with one of the front windows in a few different makes.
i think the windows come from the same manufacturer.
we are waiting to have ours changed it is a patch about the size of a tea plate in our front window . when i told our dealer he seemed to know exactly what i meant. is this the same yours. at first i thought it was mist or like static on the inside.
Would also like to know if there is a way to eradicate condensation in the front window, as ours has it. We picked it up yesterday and it is 1991, one of the plugs is missing and being the front window we can't open it, I've put the electric heater on in there for the moment and hoping it will help a little.
As far as I am aware, the fix is to remove the plug and use a hair-dryer to heat the air inside the window till the condensation dissapears and dries it out.....then re-insert the plug to re-seal it.
In caravans ,its caused by damp air trapt in the cavity, when sun ,or heating inside cause it to evaperate it is trapt and becomes condensation on the coldes part of the widdow ,you can remove the plugs ,and blow a warm blast of air from a hairdrier ,to help it escape ,then replace the plugs, making shure that they are well seald ,so when cleaning with a damp cloth,no drops of water can seep back in through the plugs
------------- May the roof of your camper
never fall in ,and the couple inside ,never fall out,
