I did a search for this subject and was surprised I couldn't find anyone else asking it (although I didn't check every result as there were too many..)...
We're going to Hollands Wood in July for 3 nights. Assuming I use the gas for fridge and heating, the battery should be OK for that length of time, shouldn't it (110mA, I think)?
Should only be the lights and water pump needing the battery, no? (No TV or radio etc).
And I hope that half a 10kg BPLite bottle of gas will be enough?

Hi, your battery should be fine providing you do not have too many halogen lights on for very long as these drain the battery quite quickly, LED lamps are a lot more energy efficient. The fridge on gas, you are looking approximately 330 grams of gas per 24 hour period. Water heater i would suggest you only heat what you are going to use, takes about 40 mins on gas to heat up and if you are frugal about useage, my husband and i can both shower on one tank full of hot water.
This is how we live regularly when we go for weekends racing with no EHU and have not yet run out of battery life yet!
We always carry a spare gas bottle as we would not want to run out when you in the middle of a field but camping in the New Forest you are not too far away from many suppliers of gas but dont know about availability of BP lite, maybe worth researching before going where your nearest supplier will be to you.
You have no problems there. I regularly go a weekend on an 85 aH battery and a 7kg butane bottle lasts us a few weeks.
We do carry a spare battery and gas bottle but rarely need it. We went away for a long weekend over easter (spare gas bottle was empty) and managed fine with our 85aH battery, even watching quite a few hours TV. The battery was just about flat when we left though, too low to use the mover to hitch up. We did have a 13 watt solar panel connected to the battery to recover some of our usage, but it wasn't giving out much power as there was not much sun. Certainly a lot cheaper and quieter than running a generator.
I regularly go away for fortnights with two 110amp batteries and find that I get about 5 days usage from the first battery before I have to seek a charge, my usage is as you describe but I add on a couple of hours TV in the evenings.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
