Some of my awning poles have a little bit of rust on them, nothing major, but I dont want to get any rust stains on the awning canvas .
Whats the best thing to do to clean them up and stop it getting any worse.
Assuming these are just plain steel poles (not paonted or galvanised - if such a thing exists). You could try a bit of 'rust killer' - such as Kurust or Jenolite. Basically phosphoric acid which turns the rust to iron phosphate (I thinkj).
It will leave the iron phosphate as black marks where the rust was. but this shouldn't I think mark the material
