While they are on, get to the weighbridge, complete with your normal back seat passengers and luggage, and weigh your rear axle. Then add the noseweight of the caravan, and see if you are still legal.
There isn't much to play with, and I could well imagine this being too much. Driving round with the bikes on won't really tell you anything. You need the weights.
