We bravely ordered a new van today! This is what we're getting sometime in April. It's a Dealer Special Edition - a 'Coastline Excel 550' which is based on the Sterling Europa 550.
It looks lovely, bet April seems like it will never come. We collected our new one today, Ranger GT60 520/4 from Chipping Sodbury Caravans. I can't believe how they changed since our old 1999 Ranger.

Congrats to you too! My Mum and Dad had a new Ranger 500/5 in 1996 from Chipping Sodbury Caravans. Was that when Rangers were introduced? It seemed great at the time, but not a patch on what you get now!
Wow i'm so envious of you both. We are planning a new van for summer 2011! and i can't wait. It must be lovely to have a completely NEW van that nobody else has used. We have loved our second hand Altea but one daughter is already not coming with us anymore and our second daughter wants to stay home next summer (when she's 16). So if all goes to plan we hope to get a fixed bed Adria Adora next summer.

Congratulations - the Swift dealer specials are just about perfect! Ours took very little tweaking to bring it up to scratch (Alko ATC and mini heki in the loo).

I feel dizzy! Very similar to ours, we love our Sterling. Nice 'van, not sure about the colourways, shame they have put such a small heki above the bed and done away with the side window, love the fact the wardrobe is in the bedroom area, nice bathroom area but those rose petals could prove a pain! Enjoy your new 'van!

SusieSu - we loved the Eccles Ruby and I would've bought one if Mr U-M had let me. The sticking point for us was the weight - with the Ruby being heavier than our current van. Also, we would have had to change two very expensive Isabella awnings - whereas they will still fit the slightly shorter Coastline!

The colourways are quite different, but after sitting in the van for a while, I decided I really liked them. It is the same scheme as on the Eccles Elite (so must therefore be dead posh - LOL!).
I don't especially like the exterior graphics and would prefer something more subtle than the giant lettering 'Coastline', but I won't see them when I am in it!
They don't put any Heki over the fixed bed - bloomin cheapskates! So, we've negotiated to have a mini-Heki put in above the fixed bed and the clear rooflight from above the bed to be moved into the washroom (doing away with the cheap and nasty opaque washroom rooflight).
Ours won't have the rose petals and probably won't have the note saying "I love you" on the front chest of drawers either. I think they were optional extras and anyway, David would be worried about the extra weight of unecessary items (as always).

Great feeling to order new isn't it? We bought our 1st van last year - 10yr old & loved her. Never in our dreams did we think we'd be in a position to order a brand new one within a year but circumstances gave us the opportunity & we collected our Coachman Festival (dealer secial of the Amara) last weekend. Have our 1st trip booked for next weekend. Can't wait.
