With an Ultima-type awning, the poles won't touch the windows, even if the awning finishes right in the middle of the window.  The poles fit into pockets along the awning-rail, and there are poles across the roof.  It won't damage your window - you just won't be able to open it.

As for erecting - the 390 and 260 are the same construction - you just have an extra 'section' on the 390, so one more flexi-pole to fit, longer roof poles and more pegs and guy-ropes. 

The upright poles are only to create an opening to the front - the front panels zip up the sides & the window section goes up & supported on the poles to create an open front with canopy over.

We used ours rolled up without the canopy. Same open front and there are fixings to allow it to roll up.

We had a 390 once and got rid.  We found the extra section a bit awkward - just an extra thing to try and balance.  Also a lot of material to handle.  We went for the Kampa Fiesta and can zip out the panels - easier to handle.  I have a feeling we may have had this conversation before.  The down poles do obstruct one of the windows, but it wasn't a problem.
