Many of us now carry the new flat screen Tv in the caravans and being what they are they can be moved easily by us and others. It is the others we should be concerned about.
I wonder if there is any sort of alarm that can be connected to this type of TV that will sound if the TV is moved. I have looked at cable alarms but on a TV there is nowhere to thread them through to make a secure connection.
Perhaps there is an alarm similar to the one used on laptops that locks up the TV. Something like the Targus Ultra Universal Laptop Lock with Alarm
I would be more concerned that they are actually in your caravan, than worry about the telly, plus the fact I imagine that it is on your house contents policy.

Our tourer days are over and we have moved on to a Hobby Motorhome
even though modern tv's are easy to carry off, i would imagine thieves would be more interested in even smaller items such as cameras,money and jewellry etc.Lock the tv in the car if you're out for the evening.

How widespread is the theft of LCD TVs on campsites?
It's not something we hitherto had though much about when we had a free-standing TV. We tucked it out of sight and to physically protect it when the van was not on site but left it ready to use on site.
Have however known of two bikes locked together being taken in the night on a site, security did not help there.
We are looking at moving onto a seasonal site which has CCTV and is monitored. Alarms are reacted to quite quickly by the staff, but obviously from time to time a snot nose slips under the radar although to date no thefts have been reported on the site.
A new lcd TV costs about £100. Anyone walking about a site with a TV under their arm is likely to be challenged. An Aqua roll costs about £40 and someone rolling that around will arouse no suspicion at all. Similarly, someone carrying an expensive camera would not look out of place. I think your concerns about security are being misplaced. Yes, security is unfortunately an issue these days, but you seem very preoccupied with the TV. If you are on as seasonal pitch, why not take your TV home with you if you are that concerned about it, as you say, they are much easier to move than the old CRT tvs.
Out of interest, what is so special about your TV? Has it been encrusted with diamonds or something? You seem to value it over all else.

Unfortunately it is gettingf that way on some sites. We were in the caravan when someone nicked our full 19kg bottle by curting straight through the supply hose. The empty bottle sttod outside the caravan for several days and within 12 hours of filling it, it was nicked and from a 5 star site!
