We put them over the dog cage or over a camping chair or even on the aluminium fold up table. all our poles on the porch awning are on the outside so cant use hooks or anything. You can buy a fold up clothes hanger thingy but need to use coat hangers with them. We actually have a camping clothes drier but never took it away with us. Best thing is to put the blow out heating on and hang the wet coats in the bathroom. It soon dries them!!------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,

Hi, we have a Hangaway, it is a free standing three arm iron tidy, i use mine all the time at home and because it folds up into a small bag always take our camping to hang our wet washing on, you can use with or without coat hangers.

Hi we used to use a plastic coat rack (bought from towsure) I think it had room to hang 4 coats but we also used it for towels etc and hung it from the pole on the inside.

In the past i have tied a piece of twine between 2 awning roof poles and angled the fan heater upwards and dried things that way.------------- Those that danced were thought to be quite insane to those who could not hear the music. Angela Monet

Hang them up in the shower, using a clothes hanger which hooks on to the roof vent.
What? Your van doesn't have a shower or a roof vent? That was your first mistake!
PS: Rob12 lists his outfit as a Royal Biaritzz 6 ... which is a tent.

I have some hooks (like a small version of butcher's hooks but without the sharp ends) which just hook over an awning pole. Can't remember where I got them from - ebay I think - but they were only cheap, about 99p for a pack of three. ------------- Tigermouse

We use these. We hook them over the wardrobe doors in the bathroom. They are padded on the inside so don't make marks. We use them for both coats and towels.

Cut up an old metal coathanger to make S shaped hooks to hang in the awning.
Stick hooks in the shower and hang them there.

If the awning is up, we put wet coats on the back of the alu. chairs. If the awning is not up, they go in the shower. I find shoes are a bigger problem. We tend not to stay out in the rain or snow (other than to get to the car), but as you often have to walk on wet ground you can't help getting shoes wet!
...... but this time of year - who needs coats anyway!!!!
