can some one tell me do I need to have a 12volt battery in my caravan as my present one is overheating, I've got the normal 12 volt things ie pump, tube, extractor etc.
if i dont need it what do i do with the battery connections etc any info would be great

If the battery is overheating then it could well be the charger that is faulty. Trying to run things off the charger without a battery fitted especially if the charger is putting out too high a voltage will start blowing pulbs and burning out pumps.
With the EHU and battery connected check the voltage across the battery terminals. For overheating to occur on a healthy battery then the voltage will be over 14 volts. If this is not the case then the battery is most likely at fault. You should be able to get the battery tested by a battery supplier or most garages.
