There is a good tip in the improvement pages in September 09 "Caravan" magazine. If you want a fixed bed but don't want to change your van if it is, I imagine, a 4/5 berth. The article shows how the 2 front bunks are used to alter into a fixed double bed and a mattress bought to size.
