Whilst my wife and I were away at Pembrey CC site the last fortnight (5th till 18th July) I had the greatest pleasure in meeting up with a fellow caravanner and his wife (Eddie and Jane) whom I had made contact with through this forum. I had trouble with a new aerial I had purchased and couldn't get a decent picture with it. I tried all sorts of ways and means to get a good picture and eventually found that (amongst other things the esternal aerial socket was damaged. I obtained a new one and Eddie spent a great deal of his time with me changing the socket and trying differnt positions for the aerial. We were defeated as the site isn't good for TV reception. The point I am making though is that despite never having met me before Eddie spent a great deal of his time helping me, a fellow caravanner, out.  Eddie and Jane thanks so much, it really was appreciated.

No there are no arial sockets on the bollards at Pembrey which did surprise me as they report TV reception as fair, not sure who it is fair too as several people complained to us about it as we were trying to get Martyn's and ours going. I had to use satalite in the end.

We stayed overnight at Dover in May before sailing to France. Our friends arrived with their outfit to join us. On unplugging the car/van electrics it was obvious something was wrong as both sets of plugs had overheated and melted. My friend went to a caravan dealer in Folkstone to have new plugs fitted but they would not do it in case they messed up the cars electronics!!!!!!!!!!!

Another caravanner on the site said he was an electrician and would do the rewiring of the new plugs [bought from the Dealer]. My friend could not bear to watch, however within an hour the job was done. Cash was refused but a bottle of wine with sincere thanks was accepted.

We had a trouble free 4+ weeks in France.

It really does renew your faith in human kindness, but wasn't my friend lucky.
