We are picking up a new van on Monday and it will have a Nemesis clamp on it when it's in storage but it's a bit heavy to carry around when touring. So the question is can anybody recommend a secure, reasonably light (I know there is a contradiction here in light/secure so it needs to be a balance) wheelclamp suitable for alloy wheels?
Regards

We have just bough this
http://www.caravantech-shop.co.uk/products/milenco-products/all/milenco-compact-wheel-clamp
Is brilliant, really easy to fit, light and comes in a bag and so ,uch better than our other clunky one, Insurance approved to.

I looked at that one and thought it looked good. How heavy is it?

Its no good if you happen to have wheel nuts hidden behind a trim disc though, we have the Bulldog QD clamp fitted which overcomes this problem, as well as a hitchlock, and are now looking for some corner steady locks to buy also.

Its really light, was surprising really and feels really solid when put on the wheel, It even came with 3 little adaptors if your wheel nuts are different sizes------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

We use and like the Bulldog Euroclamp as featured in this link:
http://www.saundersonsecurity.co.uk/acatalog/Bulldog_Euroclamp.html
Its simple, tolerably light <7kg, compact to carry/store, visual and meets our insurance obligation.

If you have a Nemisis clamp, why not go for a Samurai clamp for touring. It is the same design as the Nemisis, but does not have the heavy cover plate for the hub. You will need locking wheel nuts as well though. We have alloy wheels and a motor mover, and it fits fine.
I bought a Nemisis and found it a right pain, and like you suggest much too heavy for touring. I sold it through ebay and bought the Samurai, much better and much lighter. It will fit under the front seat (from behind) when travelling, which is a safe stowage.
It was interesting, in a month touring on the continent, I never saw another caravan with a wheel clamp on.
