Where do you store and use your microwave in your van. We have just changed our van and though we have more room I am finding it difficult to find the best place to store and use it safely. Yep before you ask it’s not a fitted one. Any advice?

Why not fit it into a spare locker.
Have done this in our last three vans.

Do you use an awning?
If so, you could put the microwave on the table in the awning. For travelling, I would put it on the floor anyway.

When we are not using the 'van, we have the microwave on the floor, and this is where it travels. When we are on site, we usually have the awning up, even though it is normally the just little Sunncamp Scenic Plus. In that case, we have it on a table by the door, along with the Remoska and the toaster! We then use the extension lead to connect to the items in the awning. This works well, and minimises clutter inside the caravan. On the odd occasions where we are not using an awning at all, we have the microwave on a table at the front end of the caravan, and use the other end as sitting and sleeping space.

The lockers are not deep enough, and I always think that they are a bit high up when I have looked at fitted ones in other vans.
If you have a look around you will find several manufacturers including Panasonic that make smaller microwaves which will fit lockers on vans.

Thanks Dave. Will let the OH know he needs to forget his new TV for the van and start looking at a new smaller microwave. Not sure he will agree, but it's worth a try. Looks like it will have to go in the awning.

When were not using the awning we put the top bunk up without the cushions & put every thing on that. if it looks cluttered pull the curtains round.
