Thanks sue on the brighter side which we have to try to consentate on my nephew is doing really well he is still in the coma but they dont think it will be long now.

If you really like your present van you could consider converting a settee-bed to a fixed bed yourself. Many people overhere in Holland have done so.
Provided of course that your van has two settees.
It's a matter of taking out one table, than placing one slatted bottom, or coupling two slatted bottoms together, hinges on the side, two gas truts.
And of course one or two good mattrasses.
Due to the hinges storage is maintained. Sometimes they also mount a piece of (well finished) plywood to the side underneath to close the space underneath the bed and gain storage, e.g. for bedding stuff.
I understand that this all can easily be done withing 25 kgs, hence maintaining enough loading capacity.
