Was just explaining the process to you Bertie, yes of course it is fraudulent but the Banks have no idea that 4, 5 or 6 accounts down the line the funds are fraudulent until some days later.
I don't know why money still takes so long to clear here in the UK but whilst the clearance system remains this way then these frauds will continue.
That's my point, Ali. If the banks were not free to simply take the money back, they would soon clean up their act. As things stand, they can be as lax as they wish on this issue, without any penalty to themselves.
I don't know the answer Bertie, I really don't, I can never see us living in a society that is free of fraud and crime! Somebody, somewhere, will always work out how to work the system.
