I know your weekends over now but we only ever take our simple put up scenic awning for weekends. Peg them down well and they will withstand the worst of gales. Tried and tested!!
We used our full sized awning at Bashley last weekend, two nights, but then we did decorate for the Fairy Lights. Not using one this weekend but we will only be in the van to eat and sleep. We will use the full size one when we go to Hunstanton between Christmas and New Year.
'We have always managed to put up ours even for short weekends,.Until last Saturday. Fitted it to the rail no problem, then Gale force winds ballooned it from the inside.Looked like a van with a spinnaker.Couldn't even hold it down for long enough to get ONE peg in.Gave up and did without ..Too cold to sit in it anyway(-6 c) but "Where can we put the stuff we usually store in it and why is there so much ? "
Hi all we use a porch awning for weekends full 1 if we go for a week or 2 we always go 2 blackpool marton mere the super pitches or tight 2 get on because the cars or parked in front off the caravans and the road is narrow just found out about hampton road 1 not been on there wot is it like?
hello everyone BIG THANKYOU for all the replies, sorry to tell you all we had to cancel going to Hampton road due to selling our Saab (unexpectedly) that we have just had the new towbar fitted!!! and have exchanged it for a nearly new X Trail, we feel it will tow the van better, and accomadate children and a dog, we were in two minds if we were making the right decision!. however the paperwork was not completed in time and the buyer needed our car. I have been to Hampton Road before and can reccommend it due to the close proximity to the town, and an excellent clubhouse on site. It is quite a small site with level pitches, the only negative is the age of the toilet and shower block, last time i went required abit of refurbishment, (may have been since last year???)will keep everyone up to date on our change of towing vehicle.
