We  did and completely re engineered the Milenco Wheelclamp last year, following feedback on this site. It also is packed in a step for easy storage.

It is now very easy to fit in under 10 seconds. Its much more secure than other products, is also SCM approved and Gold Sold Secure. Insurance companys recommend it and offer discounts.

Earlier versions of the wheel clamp were more awkward to fit, but if you follow the instructions you should be able to fit in under 30 seconds. Please see the FAQ section on our website if you have had a problem or come and see us at NEC and we will help you.

Our last post was in respose to surfer 1. Took too long to post.

The new corner steady locks are designed to be only 1 measure of many security measures.

To be used in addition with wheelclamps, alarms, hitchlocks etc.

That's the problem, how many do you fit? short of concreting the van in, you are only slowing the thief down.

My insurance don't recognise steady locks as an option and insist on wheel clamp and hitch lock, still as I told them their fitted they are now on the policy so having had to buy a hitch lock I need to fit all three

Personally I like the idea of steady locks better than a hitch lock hence buying them instead of, to many ways of leaving a hitch lock in place at least for the short term. Steadies need to be off the ground or their going to make a lot of noise and or sparks dragging along the tarmac and I would say their not at all as weak as some people imagine.

From a marketing point of view, yes definitely point out the improvement in design or people will think colour is the only difference!

imho a lock although a dirty option should go round the winding spindle at the rear of the leg and then lock,if the correct length the leg could not be lifted.as said the grease would be on your hands but that will wipe off.

I suppose you can point out the weakness of the opposition's products in your marketing collateral.

I don't think too many caravanners will be upset that you are publishing a means of stealing a caravan - we all know that there are ways around every device and those who have an interest in this will find it out no matter how hush-hush you keep it.

However, you will have to be prepared for the competition to point out in their collateral where the weakness/es are in yours too!

- The only break-in/theft from our storage was preceded by a break in at the local fire station.  Armed with the fire service's cutting equipment, there was no security measure that was not impenetrable!

I therefore wouldn't bother with every security device in the land, just a couple of good quality basics and a top-notch insurance policy.

I would just like to say hats off to Milenco.

They are listening to feedback and suggestions, and this can only benefit the honest caravanner in the long run.

Thanks Milenco.

Hi Milenco , i would say in your advertising " This new corner steady lock design prevents the rotation of the shaft and will prove more difficult to over come " or words to that effect .
That way you haven't said how the old type steady locks are over come , but have stated yours are better .

I would not like to see you stating what tool can be used to beat a corner steady lock , no matter who makes it .
