You are correct Brian, it is of course built into the price of the van. 

When we got our previous van (in 1998) it never crossed my mind that it would not come with the EHU cable, but I knew we would have to purchase a step and all the other stuff.

With the new van, we got the new step, so we let our old one go with the old van when we sold it, but we did hang on to everything else, including the Wastemaster.  I don't really understand why they provided a waste container with the van, especially such a small one!

Are there vans that do come without an EHU cable as standard?

I am sure that ours didn't and it was the dealer that threw one in with the van.  We could have had a spare wheel provided as an optional extra for a ridiculous price.  There were some small plastic chocks provided which we have never used as we went out and got proper ones.  I like going out and buying bits and pieces.
