i used the standard sky dish in the Dordogne last august , and it works perfect , in fact my wifes cousin who lives in Carlucet in the dordogne region uses the same set up supplied by sky in the UK with no problems

Silly question time, why would you want to watch UK weather forecasts when in France, wouldn't it be better to tune into a local tv station and watch "Regardez Nord" or whatever?  17 Unless its to cheer you up if its sunny in France and raining at home?

I recently used my 60cm dish for the first time and had no problem setting it up with a sky (older box). just pointed it in the genral direction of other satellite dishes on the site. However question is.

We had good signal strength and signal quality with readings being 0002 and 07d4 so correct on that front. But the TV guide showed differences to our home system i.e. BBC1 Northwest, ITV Yorkshire, whereas our home system says BBC1 england and ITV england. any thoughts, would be welcomed.

Wish we'd never brought the thing! Be up for sale soon!

Can't think of anywhere in France that needs a 60cm (zone 2) dish. A 43cm (zone 1) should work perfectly !

I would be ok without TV, but OH loves his football and Coronation Street so Sky is essential. That said, our upcoming holiday in France will be the first time with Sky so hope it works ok, otherwise I will have Victor Meldrew on my hands!

We have tried the satellite dish outside here and got it to work, so fingers crossed!
