To origianal question, most insurance companies insist you use some kind of security device, so not using any device on site would surely invalidate any claim.
We always put our wheel clamp on site as soon as we have pitched. Our insurance also states that the alarm has to be on if the van is left unattended at any time.
Ours is a 20 year old van and still put hitch lock and wheel clamp on. Some people in 20 grand vans looking down on your security would probably look down anyway as they think they are better. Take everyone as they come, not what car they drive or Van they have got.
Its strange that when we take my wife's horse trailer to events, it is the only one I have ever seen with these security locking devices in place. Even where we now store it in the livery yard no-one else bothers. They obviously don't insure them either or it would be voided.

Agreed. We have a Hitchlock and Wheellock fitted and all it does is hopefully deter the thief so as he will go after easier pickings, and there are plenty around.
