Our tap in our last van, Ace jubilee Viceroy was the same and the water skooshed over the edge of the sink, we bought a new shorter tap and just screwed it on to the hose and it worked great, never used it as a shower though. When I sold the van i put the old tap back on in case I needed it for the new one but happily didnt.
