A friend of mine used to tow with an XJ6, he reckoned it was only the length of overhang behind the rear axle & the fuel consumpton that ruined it as a tow car. I wouldn't think the spring assistors would be worth a try if only to make the rear end sit up a bit. There was a thread on here recently bout noseweights & it was suggested the noseweight reduced when the van was loaded, it may be worth a try. I could be in the same boat as you, we sold our L200 last week & will be towing with the Espace again. I don't want to be buying another 4x4 just to tow the caravan, I'm afraid ours will have to go if we have problems.
