i agree with all the previous threads,would have thought the seller would have gave you a wee something extra to get you started,i would take wipes instead of liquid cleaners ,saves weight ,if you have a dog you need a hook thing for tying it up on sites and plenty spare pooh bags incase your on a site with no long dog walks,its amazing how quick you go through them,
it will cost you a wee penny to get all you need ,but you only buy it once then you have it,welcome to the caravan way of life and i hope you and yours enjoy it ,and the great advice you get on this site is always free and sent with best wishes
We have a yard chain for our dog (we tried a long lead but he chewed through it) and we attach him to the jockey wheel. He's not managed to budge Bertha yet!!

With the van being a 2005 model I would think that there is a built in battery charger so thats probably one thing on the list you wont need .Anyhow good luck ,hope you enjoy your van and have many happy days in it.
Let the dog live in the hall this week so that she gets used to living in a corridor!!!

For a big dog get at least a porch awning, the pooch will be much happier in there. If you do get an awning, get storm straps and order some delta pegs incase the weather turns gusty.
Essentials are fire extinguisher, blanket and bucket plus working smoke and CO detectors (and spare batteries). Get a CO one that is battery powered and beeps loudly not these daft colour changing ones. A piece of paper won't wake you if you're overcome by CO gas nor will it alert your neighbours.
Next steady winder, spare wheel, torque wrench, security stuff (check what insurance policy states is minimum), cooking & eating stuff, water and waste water containers, loo chemicals, mains cable, gas, a step, a spirit level, plus bedding.
Look at eBay plus local ads and car boot sales to reduce the cost.
just read your thread phil,my three dogs do sit in comfort all the way to the destination,and yes sometime i could hook them up!!!!,they get over excited when we get there,cant remember the correct name for the thing that screws into the ground and you can tie them up and give them some freedom,dont think i would tie them to the jockey wheel though.And they would be off if i left them in a porch awning or howl the place down for to get inside ,they are too used to their comfort.
i am laughing at the thought of that dog having to learn to go in and out backwards ,i bet it will have mastered a way in and out quickly especially if its excited at being away,im sure you really knew what was ment by the hook!! so no RSPCA required as yet,biffanio should get a laugh if nothing else from these threads and on a more serious note hopefully got all the informationed required
