I have just found this link www.caravanservicing4u.co.uk/cs4u_caravan_checklist.pdf which is quoted at £159+vat+parts.
May give us an idea what it covers
------------- Caravanners do it with a stabilizer!

Welcome to the life. And this certainly is the life!
My main tip would be to take a towing course and so learn how to hitch up, reverse the van and generally understand the "science" of towing. The general standard of even long-term caravanners at these things is poor.
I've been on a site for the last couple of weeks, on a cul-de-sac line of pitches, which is too narrow to easily turn a unit around. On three occasions people have driven down the (full) cul-de-sac of pitches in error and we've had to help them unhitch their van and turn it round, so it can be hitched up again, because they didn't know how to reverse a caravan. Most didn't really know how to safely hitch-up, either.
Take a course run by the Caravan Club or Camping & Caravanning Club. It's worth every penny.
No No No! Please dont encourage this Viggo! Its the highlight of my trip watching people reverse there vans, while the other half is waving away screaming, the smell of burning clutches, the in and out of the car and pointing everywhere. Its great! I once saw and absolute classic, they kept driving around - had ago at reversing in one pitch, messed it up went round again - tried a different pitch, again and so on, eventually they disappeared. Would of helped if they landed next to me!

That's rather unkind, surely you were inexperienced once? Why not go and offer help instead? You'll make more friends that way!
We bought an old-ish van and put it in to be serviced. It was gong to be about £200 (inc VAT), but as we had suffered (but survived) a tyre blow out on our first long trip it seemed the right thing to do for peace of mind. However, the day after we dropped it off the nice engineer called to ask if we really wanted it done (on such an old van!) as he had checked the basics and it was roadworthy - we were happy with that and he didn't charge us anything! So
you could arrange someone to do a similar check now and then do the full service after it has been in storage...?
