May be a silly question, but just wondered what people used their electric hook up for in a caravan. We used electric hook up for the first time and just used a small fan heater. What else do you hook up? Thanks
sorry but are you in a tent or caravan .
i would say the most important is kettle then toaster, tv, a lamp, sometimes a hair dryer, plus if your in a caravan the fridge runs off electrics, and the heater , thats about all we use . but some people take lots of things like cookers micro wave. etc
kettle is the best as you don't have to wait for ages for it to boil! All the in built stuff powered by ehu instead of battery of course but add in electric kettle, fan heater (if cold) fan (if hot!) tv (odd times only) and have bought a multi cooker thing that is great as you can do many one pan dishes in there and can even cook a full English though it takes skill to stop the beans and fried eggs merging lol. We always use ehu so bought the multi cooker to save on gas for the cooker and found that we really liked cooking with it anyway. The water heater and fridge also go on electric instead of gas.
We also use as much as possible on ehu - microwave and hotplate in addition to the above, have to make sure the site amps can take it though. Has anyone else got a microwave egg poacher and can give me tips on how to stop the eggs exploding?
They are not in their shells! it's plastic thingy that you break the eggs into, supposed to poach them in a minute, sometimes works, sometimes they explode.
How to Microwave Poached Eggs
Poached eggs form the basis of many dishes like eggs Benedict and eggs Florentine. Microwave poached eggs are ready in a few minutes and are very simple to make. Read more on breakfast egg recipes and how to poach an egg.
Step 1: Take a 6 ounce custard cup. Add water and white vinegar to it. Stir well.
Step 2: Break an egg into it. Pierce the egg yolk with the help of a toothpick.
Step 3: Cover it with a lid or plastic wrap.
Step 4: Cook it in a microwave for 1min. Drain the egg from the hot water immediately.
Step 5: Sprinkle salt and pepper and serve it hot.
i have one of these . or you can use a cup with clig film over it.
but first put a drop of water (1/2 a tea spoon) in the plastic things then put eggs in stab them with a fork twice and i always put them in for 30 seconds at a time checking them in between.as they start to set maybe check after every 20 seconds.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
